80% of respondents in urban India in 5 states don't have regular jobs that pay a monthly salary
Most of them want the Govt to either give them a job or implement MNREGA in urban areas
India's newest opinion gathering technology startup, Prashnam asked 2073 people in 110 urban assembly constituencies across Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan:
1: Do you have a regular job that pays a monthly salary?
2: If No what would you like the Govt to do about it?
Respondents:
2073 people across 110 urban assembly constituencies responded to the survey
Results:
78% said they didn't have a regular job that paid a monthly salary
Of these,
19% wanted the Govt to reduce taxes on the private sector so that they could create jobs
41% wanted the Govt to implement NGREA in cities
40% wanted the Govt to provide low paying Govt jobs
Survey Method: Samples were selected in a randomised and stratified manner using scientific techniques. Opinions were gathered using interactive voice response technology.
Margin of Error: The results have a 95% confidence level, with a plus or minus 5% margin of error.
