If you want to get vaccinated what is the process to follow?

c.       Have to register in a government platform or app

d.       I don’t know

What is CoWin?

a.       It is a government scheme to give money to the poor

b.       It is a government scheme to give ration to people

Respondent profile

2,248 adult Indians responded to this survey. They were from seven states — Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh; and 246 districts. 68 per cent were male and 32 per cent female. 66 per cent were youth (<40 years), 24 per cent middle aged and 9 per cent seniors (>60).

All India number is calculated based on population weighted average of these 7 states surveyed.

The correct process for getting a Corona vaccine

Only 25 per cent of the respondents knew that registration is a must for vaccination. While a staggering 43 per cent think that they will have to take help of a local politician or a government official for the same.

43 per cent of the people in Kerala know about registration while only 13 per cent and 11 per cent of the people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh respectively. 37 per cent in Maharashtra and 19 per cent in Rajasthan.

What is CoWin?

Of those who knew that registration is required for vaccination, 72 per cent of them knew that CoWin is the app for it. Except for people in Bihar (50 per cent) and Madhya Pradesh (47 per cent), good number of people from the other 5 states know about CoWin. 64 per cent in Gujarat and 89 per cent in Uttar Pradesh know about it.

There is a glaring difference between states with regard to vaccine awareness in general and CoWin in particular. Efforts should be ramped up to spread awareness.
